Now on this set, I want you to really hone in on what would the perfect set feel like and knowing that you are going to have the best set you've ever had, that you are going to hit all of your milestones and hit all of your markers. So we're going to guide you through minute by minute and I want you to actually close your eyes and put yourself in the space where you're going to be competing. So this is like doing a competition set but without the wear and tear on your body.
But mentally, I want you to be absolutely checked in and visualize every second of this set in your head, okay? So let's get started and I want you to close your eyes and picture the venue. That you're in, where are you going to be competing or in yourself with the space? Feel the energy in the room, find your platform, see where you're going to be competing. All right, now time has arrived, it's your time for your set. You have two minutes before we start. At this point, I want you to feel how nervous and excited you are at the same time. You know that you're ready for this, you've put in the training, you've put in the work. You know that it's time for you to go perform. Check in with your body, feel your heart rate, feel your lungs, big breaths, do you need to calm yourself down or do you need to get excited?
Check in with your body right now. See how you're feeling after your warm-ups, everything feels good. You know that this is going to be a great set. You can feel it in your bones. This is going to be the best set you've ever done in their lift. Step onto the platform, find your judge, introduce yourself and get ready. Your bells are in front of you and the time has come. Judges, are you ready? Judges are ready. Lifters, are you ready? In ten, five, four, three, two, one, lift, begin. All right, first minute, everything is feeling good. The bells feel light, breathing is smooth. You're on rhythm, on pace, 30 seconds down, minute one, feel your heart rate up from the excitement, energy of the crowd, calm your breathing, find your rhythm right there, one minute down, everything is feeling good.
Check on your count, check on your pacing, you're right on it, you're at the two minute check point, checking on your body, how are you feeling? Everything feels great. You're through the initial adrenaline rush and you're nice and calm. The bells still feel light, pacing feels manageable. Your heart rate is beginning to rise, but you know you have an under control, everything feels good. Your rhythm is smooth, you're efficient, your fixation is perfect, three minutes down, everything is feeling good, beginning to feel the burn a little bit, heart rate is up, breathing is up, starting to sweat, but you know you have this under control. You're exactly as tired as you should be right now, plenty left in the gas tank.
Pacing feels great, you're under control. Four minutes down, staying nice and steady, hear the energy of the crowd, hear the people screaming for you. You can hear the yelling, but not the words, you are completely in the zone. Everything is smooth, five minutes down, checking in at halftime, you're right on pace, your breathing is steady, your heart rate is right where you need it to be, and you know you've got plenty in the tank to finish this. The pacing feels just right, you're right on the edge, but you know you're going to finish this set, this is the best you've ever felt, nice and smooth, perfectly efficient, amazing technique, six minutes down, you know these next two minutes are crucial.
This is where your body is going to start telling you to quit, your mind is going to start yelling at you, but you know that that's coming, and you are fully prepared for it, you are right on pace, everything is feeling good, your technique feels perfect. All of the hours of training are paying off, your heart rate is high, your breathing is heavy, but you've got it under control, stay on rhythm, stay on rhythm, seven minutes down, the bells are feeling heavy, your heart rate is high, but you're still right on pace, you're cruising, you know you've got plenty in the tank to finish here, right on target, right on rhythm, your heart rate is higher, your breathing is fast, you're sweating, your muscles are aching, but you know you have this in the bag, now you've got two minutes left, two minutes to finish, and now you can see the finish line approaching, you start to feel you've got more in the tank than you thought, you start to dig a little deeper, you're right on your target pace, but now you know you can start pushing, 90 seconds remaining, you're picking up the pace, just adding an extra rep or two, but you know you can go faster, your muscles are crying, but you know you've got it, you're pushing, you're going to push to the edge and past it, you know you've got more, this is the best set you've ever done, you've got one minute left, one minute to finish, everything you've got, you check the clock, you know you can go deeper, you know you can go faster, keep fighting for every rep, and you're pushing, your heart speeding as hard as it can, you're breathing as hard as you can, but you know you're going to finish, and you're going faster, 30 seconds remaining, keep pushing, keep pushing, you're almost there, your personal best is within reach, you've got 20 seconds to go, keep pushing, get another rep, keep going, keep going, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, time, bells down, and now as you come back to the room, you hear the roar of the crowd, you look up at your timer, and you see you've got your personal best, this was the best set you've ever done, you're overwhelmed with joy, you're exhausted, every muscle is screaming, your lungs are on fire, your heart is beating out of your chest, but you know you just had the best set of your life, great work.
